Fact-checking approach
Peack News checks articles against the source material used to produce them. This includes verifying names, dates, titles, organizations, numbers, locations and the framing of the key claim in the story.
Preferred sources
- Official statements, filings, transcripts and source documents
- Named reporting from established publications
- Direct quotes and data that can be traced to a clear source
- Authoritative institutional sources such as regulators, courts, public bodies and companies
When we hold a story back
If the source is too thin, contradictory or vague to support a reliable article, we prefer to keep the piece in draft, shorten it, or wait for better information rather than pad the article with unsupported detail.
